Ride Description

TOUR DE SEWER is a 62, 50, or 25-mile fun ride, not a race.  Registration opens at 6:30 AM.  The ride will leave Ford Park in Bell Gardens starting at 7:30 AM for the 62-mile ride, 8:30 AM for the 50-mile ride, 9:00 AM for the 25 mile ride. The 62-mile route has one difficult hill to climb and several moderate climbs.  The 50-mile route has one moderate hill, the 25 is mostly flat.

Support

The course will be marked at each turn. Volunteers will be on the course and at the park to provide first-aid. Downey Amateur Radio Club will again be providing radio communications over the entire course. Rest stops will be set up along each route with water and refreshments. Roving mechanical support will also be provided to assist when needed or to transport stranded cyclists back to the park.

Safety and Rules

The use of ANSI or SNELL approved helmets is required. The Tour de Sewer is not a race. Slower riders must stay to the right, faster riders must make their presence known when passing. All bicycles should be checked by an experienced bicycle mechanic or your favorite bike shop (especially brakes and tires). All roads will be open to regular traffic and cyclists are responsible for obeying all traffic laws.
